5 Steps of a Practical Fire Risk Assessment;

  • 1: Identify the hazards.
  • 2: Decide who might be at risk
  • 3: Evaluate the risks and decide on precautions.
  • 4: Record your findings and actions to be implemented
  • 5: Review your risk assessment and update if necessary.

In addition to a prioritised action plan, a fire risk assessment should also generate a fire risk rating for your premises as an indicator of your in-house fire safety performance.

All fire safety arrangements should be recorded in a fire safety log book format.This is an excellent management tool to monitor your progress towards full compliance.

Fire Inspectors would want to see this document during a visit.
